Jesus spoke to them,
saying, "Be of good
cheer ! It is I; do not
be afraid."

When trials overwhelm our souls
And tempt us to despair,
We need to reach out to the Lord
And trust His tender care.

God's love does not keep us from trials;
it helps us get through them.

August 11

Casting all your care
upon Him, for He cares
for you.
-1 Peter 5:7

When every worry, every care
To God in faith is brought,
We have no place whereon to found
One single anxious thought.

Worry is a burden God never intended us to bear.

August 10

We all, with unveiled
face, beholding as in
a mirror the glory
of the Lord, are being
transformed.
-2 Corinthians 3:18

Called to be salt and light in this world,
Called to preserve and to shine,
Called to reflect the glory of God -
Oh, what a calling is mine !

The primary reason for living in this world is to reflect the likeness in Christ.

August 9

They will turn their
ears away from the truth.
-2 Timothy 4:4

God who formed worlds by the power of His Word.
Speaks through the Scriptures His truth to be heard;
And if we read with the will to obey,
He by His Spirit will show us His way.

The Bible: Read it, believe it, obey it !
