Be doers of the Word,
and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves.
-James 1:22

It is God's will that we should read
His Word from day to day,
Not just for knowledge, but much more -
To love Him and obey.

We don't really know the Bible unless we obey the Bible.

August 7

If anyone serves Me,
let him follow Me, and
where I am, there My
servant will be also.
-John 12:26

As i walk along life's pathway,
Though the way i cannot see,
I shall follow in Christ's footsteps,
For He has a plan for me.

To find your way through life, follow Jesus.

August 6

Bear one another's
burdens, and so fulfill
the law of Christ.
-Galatians 6:2

Lord, give us courage to confront
Believers who have strayed,
And then with gentleness restore
By coming to their aid.

To help people get back on the right path, walk with them and show them the way.

August 5

The hearts of this
people have grown
dull. Their ears are hard
of hearing, and their
eyes they have closed.
-Matthew 13:15

Our service for the Lord becomes
A duty that is hallow
If we neglect our heart for God
And Him we do not follow.

We can become so busy doing good that we lose our heart for God.

August 4

If My people... turn
from their wicked ways,
then I will... forgive
their sin and heal their
land.
-2 Chronicles 7:14

Revive us again,
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

Nothing is politically right which is morally wrong.

August 3

This is the day the Lord
has made; we will
rejoice and be glad in it.
-Psalm 118:24

Under His wings, what a refuge in sorrow!
How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!
Often when earth has no balm for my healing,
There i find comfort, and there i am blessed.

Thankfulness finds something good in every circumstance.

August 2

The righteous should choose his friends carefully.
-Proverbs 12:26

I do not ask for many friends,
But give me, Lord, the few
Whose loyalty and faithfulness
Are first of all to You.

True friends are like diamonds - precious and rare.

August 1

Since the creation of
the world His invisible
attributes are clearly
seen.... even His
eternal power and
Godhead.
-Romans 1:20

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious - Thy great name we praise.

The God who created the universe is the God who you can know.
